DAY 1: ARRIVE JULIUS NYERERE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT – DAR ES SALAAM

Arrive Julius Nyerere International Airport, after clearing customs and immigration formalities you will be met and transferred to Dar es salaam Serena hotel for overnight on bed & breakfast basis

DAY 2: SIWANDU, NYERERE NATIONAL PARK

Day Itinerary

After breakfast you will be transferred to Julius Nyerere airport for a scheduled flight Dar es salaam/Selous. Upon arrival at Siwandu airstrip in Selous, you will be met by Siwandu Camp drive guide and drive to the camp for lunch. Afternoon game drive at Nyerere National Park

Overnight: Siwandu

DAY 3: SIWANDU, NYERERE NATIONAL PARK

Full day activities at Nyerere National Park, including game drive, guided walking and boat safari. Meals and overnight at Siwandu Camp.

Nyerere National Park

Formerly the northern part of Selous Game Reserve, Tanzania’s Nyerere National Park is Africa’s largest National Park. Stretching over an impressive 30,893 square kilometres, the park is home to some of the world’s largest concentrations of wildlife, and the incredible diversity and sheer volume of animals draw visitors from around the globe.

Travelers can look forward to spotting a wide collection of common and rare species including the famous Big Five, some rare species of antelopes like Roan Antelope, and large concentrations of elephant and hippos. DAY 4: JONGOMERO, RUAHA NATIONAL PARK     

Day Itinerary

After breakfast you will be transferred to Siwandu airstrip for a scheduled flight Siwandu/Ruaha. Upon arrival at Ruaha airstrip you will be met by Jongomero camp driver guide and drive to the camp for lunch. Afternoon game drive in Ruaha National Park.

Overnight: Jongomero          

Under the magnificent shade trees, on the banks of the Jongomero sand river lies the beautiful Jongomero camp. This hidden gem is tucked away in a remote corner of the Ruaha National Park. Here you will get a chance to experience Africa’s best kept secret. For guests seeking an authentic African adventure, a visit to Ruaha National Park is essential.

Blending in beautifully with its surroundings, the camp is tucked below a dappled riverine canopy on the banks of the seasonal Jongomero river, a natural pathway for animals in search of water. Positioned on one of the meanders, with sweeping views of the bank beyond, lies the camp bar, lounge and restaurant; which comprises an open wooden terrace shaded by a high thatched roof with comfortable sofas and furniture made of reclaimed dhow wood. After game experiences by vehicle and on foot laze around the elevated pool and enjoy the sights and sounds of being so close to nature.

Accommodation at Jongomero comprises eight large and well-appointed tented suites, built on raised wooden platforms, under enormous thatched roofs that also encompass a spacious private deck which overlooks the dry riverbed. DAY 5: JONGOMERO, RUAHA NATIONAL PARK     

Day Itinerary

Full day game drive in Ruaha National Park, meals and overnight at Jongomero Camp.

Ruaha National Park

Following its recent expansion, Ruaha is currently East Africa’s biggest national park and the second-largest on the African continent. It is also Tanzania’s most sizeable elephant haven and home to a profusion of bird species, including kingfishers, plovers, egrets, hornbills and sunbirds.

Crocodiles and hippos thrive in the Great Ruaha River, which flows along the sanctuary’s eastern border and in the dry season between July and November, animals flock to the last remaining water sources, presenting an exceptional wildlife spectacle. There are a number of accommodation options available but some close for the wet season in March and April.

DAY 6: END OF ITINERARY        

Day Itinerary
