Traversing East Africa

Traversing East Africa Limited is a local safari company based in Arusha, Tanzania, in East Africa, and owned and managed by local Tanzanians with extensive knowledge in the tourism industry for over 20 years. We arrange and operate safaris, cultural tours, and mountain climbing expeditions in Tanzania as well as beach vacations to the Spice Island of Zanzibar.

Our intimate knowledge of Africa, encompassing its culture, wildlife, and ecosystems, combined with our experience living in the continent, ensures a comprehensive understanding of our clients’ needs when planning the trip of a lifetime to make their dreams come true.

We believe Africa’s landscape is one of the most fascinating and special places on earth. Tanzania is known as the best destination for authentic safaris. It is home to many national parks and conservation areas, including Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain. Two of the most famous and cherished parks in the world are the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. Selous is the largest game reserve in the world. And one of the most spectacular natural sights in the world—the annual Great Migration.
Come experience the country’s beauty and diverse wildlife in their untouched, natural environment.

WHY CHOOSE TRAVERSING EAST AFRICA

We seek safari accommodation with friendly owners, helpful staff, good food, spectacular views, a pleasant atmosphere, and clean facilities.

We guarantee good value for money, whatever your choice of accommodation is.

Our local licensed safari guides are professional, experienced, fluent in English, and have in-depth knowledge of animals and parks.

Well-maintained 4×4 safari Land Cruisers with roof hatches for unobstructed and up-close game viewing, equipped with wifi, mobile phone/camera charging ports, and a refrigerator with cool mineral water during your safari/transfers.

For the Mount Kilimanjaro climb, we use the best routes with beautiful views and good acclimatization. It is important for us that participation in our expeditions is first of all safe and also comfortable for all the participants.

We have healthy and tasty food on our expedition on the mountain. Our cook does carry a small mobile kitchen; our guests are continually impressed with the food they receive during the climb with us.

We include oxygen cylinders for all our climbs, and they are included in the climb cost, not as an additional expense.

Regular health checks on the mountain: our guides check two times a day on the well-being of each climbing participant to ensure their health and overall acclimatization progression. Guides use oximeters and stethoscopes to check for signs of altitude sickness.

All our top guides to Mount Kilimanjaro are certified wilderness first responders. This is the highest qualification a mountain guide can get, and every one of our lead guides has earned this certificate. They know all the routes very well; they are well experienced in mountain medicine and know what to do in case of an emergency on the mountain.
